Job Description

This internship opportunity will run from July - late August.

The IRC is seeking an Education Intern to assist with various, research, communications and knowledge management

Major Responsibilities: The Education Intern's major responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Knowledge Management

* Create electronic filing system for certain Education projects including content related to Early Childhood Development and Social-Emotional Learning.
* Develop a bibliography citing resources from existing resource library and assist with its upkeep

Measurement Assistance

* Conduct a desk review on different formative assement tools used in emergency contexts
* Assist with packaging and organization of different measurement materials

Learning Outcomes: An internship with the IRC's Education Team provides practical experience working at a large humanitarian aid NGO and offers opportunities for learning technical and skills required for a role in the international educational development sector. Learning outcomes from this internship include:

* Increased knowledge of education in emergencies (EiE), country-specific programming, and early childhood development (including social-emotional learning, literacy, numeracy), and safe learning environments
* Meeting and networking with IRC colleagues throughout the technical units
* Familiarity with measurement concepts and gaps in education in emergencies



Qualifications

Education:

* Bachelor's degree required


* Matriculating graduate-level student in International Affairs, International Education, or relevant field

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:


* Demonstrate interest in education in emergencies and early childhood education


* Detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks


* Excellent oral and written communication skills


* Strong research skills


* Computer skills: MS Word, Excel, and Google Suite

Experience:


* International experience a plus

Language Skills:


* Ability to read French and/or Arabic a plus

Working Environment: Standard Work Environment, Two Days a Week,

Unpaid position- transit and meals reimbursable
