Job Description

Intern for: DDL Vector Design and Early Development team

Work Location: 140 58th street, Building A-8J, Brooklyn, NY 11220

Length of Internship: June to August 2019

Purpose:

To obtain hands-on experience on molecular cloning and cell culture

Project and timelines:

The intern is expected to work full-time during the summer 2019. He/She will first receive the training on lab safety/regulation and routine lab duty. Then he/she will learn molecular cloning and mammalian cell culture technique at DDL. All work will be supervised by one of the senior lab personnel in the Vector Design and EDL team.

Responsibilities:

* Follow all DDL lab safety regulation
* Assist in the routine lab duties including stocking, autoclaving, making common buffer
* Assist in mammalian cell culturing
* Conduct molecular cloning
* Maintain lab notebook

Intern will gain hands-on scientific research experience in addition to their study at school. He/She will have an opportunity to interact with scientists and researchers, attend staff meetings and acquire practical skills in the areas of responsibilities.
