Job Description

Summary:

Responsible for all aspects of systems including hardware and software running on them. Keeping systems operating efficiently and effectively. Works with other Operations Team members to provide connectivity and access. Measure, monitor and maintain systems to proactively drive system improvement forward. Creates and maintains all documentation and researches and writes project proposals to obtain funding for system improvements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Primary responsibility for system performance, availability and recovery and all tasks necessary to achieve acceptable results.
  • Designing and performing set up on systems and equipment as needed, including but not limited to, Servers, workstations, wireless equipment, scanners and printers.
  • Second tier support which analyzes and troubleshoots requests as needed to achieve best path to resolution meeting service level objectives.
  • Examines and recommends opportunities for improvement in all company systems.
  • Understands business processes and flows to be able to perform issue resolution effectively.
  • Logs and tracks requests and maintains history records and related problem documentation in a professional manner, providing detail to allow subsequent issues to be resolved more quickly.
  • Consult with other team members to resolve, explain software errors or to recommend changes to programs.
  • Interacts with software and hardware vendors as needed.
  • Writes and revises manuals, exercises, visual displays and procedures.
  • Responsible party for AV delivery and experience.
  • Trains users on software.

  • Must have the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast paced production oriented environment.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent from four-year college; or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of hardware configuration, management and service of PC and Apple systems.
  • Knowledge of business software such as ERP, WMS, office productivity toolsets, Microsoft Office products, operating systems including Linux and aptitude to quickly learn new tool sets as needed.
  • Ability to find needed information through research, conversations, online forums and any other appropriate tools and work with colleagues until successful problem resolution.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret procedures. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from individuals and/or groups.
  • Must be able to communicate and interact effectively with all levels of employees.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Excellent problem solving capability is essential.
  • Must be an analytical thinker, problem solver, detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple open tasks.
  • Must be service oriented.
  • Above average computer skills.
