We are seeking individuals interested in developing RC extraction solutions for Intel's cutting edge technology. The member will be part of a team that covers capacitance modeling, interconnect extraction, parasitic extraction, RC reduction, and validation of resistance, capacitance, and inductance results. Depending on the candidate's background, primary responsibilities may include working with multiple EDA companies to co-develop extraction solutions that will be used internally and as part of an external foundry FDK; working with Intel's technology group to understand and model existing and future technology features related to the interconnect; creating new extraction techniques to address upcoming technology features not yet available in existing extraction tools; and/or validation of the existing extraction solutions. Knowledge of device extraction and capacitance extraction is desired. Experience in extraction flows using popular extraction (StarRCXT, QRC, XRC) and LVS (Hercules/ICV, Assura/PVS, Calibre) solutions is plus, as is knowledge of popular 2D and 3D electromagnetic packages. The candidate will work closely with other members of the team, internal project teams, Intel's technology groups, and possibly EDA vendors. As a member of a software group, the candidate is expected to create high-quality software/flows, work with multiple developers, and follow software design practices.
Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Computer Engineering
University research in electromagnetics, parasitic extraction, or device physics
High-level of proficiency in C and/or C++
4+ years of experience with scripting languages (e.g. Perl, TCL, Python)
4+ years of experience with various solvers (e.g. Raphael, HFSS, FastHenry, QuickCap, university-developed tools)
