Job Description

Responsibilities may be quite diverse of an exempt technical nature. U.S. experience and education requirements will vary significantly depending on the unique needs of the job. Job assignments are usually for the summer or for short periods during breaks from school.

Responsibilities generally include:

  • Designing and implementing mechanical systems/assemblies.
  • Hand fabricating assemblies.
  • Working with rapid prototype machines.
  • Attending to the prototype lab, cleaning, organizing.
  • Developing mechanical solutions in cad packages.
  • Developing a project specification with colleagues, often including. those from other engineering disciplines.
  • Developing, testing and evaluating theoretical designs.
  • Making sure a product can be made reliably and will perform consistently in specified operating environments.
  • Recommending modifications following prototype test results.
  • Working with other professionals, within and outside the engineering sector.


Qualifications

You must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Relevant experience can be obtained through school work, classes and project work, internships, military training, and/ or work experience.

Minimum Requirements:

  • The candidate must be pursuing a BS in Mechanical Engineering or similar technical discipline.
  • This U.S. position is open to U.S. Workers Only. A U.S. Worker is someone who is either a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident, or a person granted Refugee or Asylum status by the U.S. Government. Intel will not sponsor a foreign national for this position.

Minimum 6+ months of experience in the following:

  • Mechanical systems.
  • Problem solving for assembly.
  • Engineering software packages.
