Job Description

Components Research is looking for a PhD level engineer to work on the packaging and testing of circuits for quantum computing.  This will require experience with microwave and RF systems at low temperature as well as experience with Semiconductor Packaging. The position will be located at Intel's Semiconductor Packaging facility in Chandler, Arizona.  The individual is expected to work closely with fabrication experts at Intel's Hillsboro factory and with quantum physicists at QuTech in the Netherlands.   You will need to efficiently communicate and collaborate daily with other groups to determine and validate success criteria.  Independent design and follow-through of unique, enabling ideas is a key expectation from this role. This position includes overseeing measurement equipment and collaboration with external research groups and vendor programs.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Requirements:

- Must have a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or Applied Physics.

- Minimum of 3 months experience with RF.

- 3 or more 1st author publications.

-Must have unrestricted right to work in the US without requiring sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with microwave signals and materials at low-temperatures.

- 4 yrs of experience through your Ph.D. research in modeling, fabricating, and testing of circuits and materials at low-temperature 1-4K.

- Experience with mixed signal control of qubits.

- Experience with or knowledge of Semiconductor Packaging.

- Understanding of CMOS devices and superconducting metals system.
