Job Description

IT Undergraduate Technical Interns in Mfg. IT will work with the Process Integration and Control Systems team, providing Factory Automation support to the Intel factories in Arizona as well as other locations. They will install, configure and support client computing systems with control software for factory tools and processes. In some cases, if their experience and skills allow, they may be part of the teams collecting requirements from partners and designing/building 3-tier applications, with database back-end and middle-tier systems. These IT projects are expected to last from 3 to 9 months, and can be aligned to your course schedule and University rules. and will involve coaching and mentoring from senior IT/Automation engineers. The Student Interns will be given classroom-type or web-based training on computing systems configuration and support. Mfg. IT group provides services in factory automation, engineering analyses and excursion management systems areas, to Intel's Fab and Assembly/Test factory network across the world. Job assignments in this position maybe year-round if the University has provisions for it.


Qualifications

The candidate must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Requirements:

- Pursuing BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field

- This U.S. position is open to U.S. Workers Only. A U.S. Worker is someone who is either a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident, or a person granted Refugee or Asylum status by the U.S. Government. Intel will not sponsor a foreign national for this position.

- Ability to work part-time throughout the year onsite

Preferred Qualifications

Background in IT support, OS installation and configuration, PC troubleshooting and system builds, web application development, database design and software development life-cycle.

Knowledge of Windows OS and software application installation/configuration.

Experience in VB.Net, Java, C, C++ and PERL programming is preferred.

Microsoft Office skills technical documentation exposure, and some level of knowledge of project management is advantageous
