System Prototyping - Advanced Aerial Drone Communications


The internship candidate will be joining an advanced wireless aerial communication research team within the Wireless Communications Research organization in Intel Labs. The candidate is expected to conduct research on advanced technologies for future drone a.k.a. UAVs communications and control, with focus on developing advanced aerial platforms. Research responsibilities will include design, implementation, evaluation and optimization to address the special challenges in aerial communications, including baseband and/or RF subsystems. The intern is also expected to participate in field tests and measurements.


Qualifications

The internship candidate is expected to be an advanced Ph. D. candidate with strong foundation in communication or control optimization and research development. Experience in developing advanced communications platforms is also very important. Past experience with aerial communications is a plus. Required skills:Advanced PhD student in Electrical or Computer Engineering with communications or control background Experience with system and platform implementations such as SDR, antenna systems, beamforming, MIMO, etc. Desired skills: Past internship or industry project work experience related to wireless communication or control platforms is highly preferredFamiliarity with 3GPP/WLAN wireless standards and practical implementation skills are desirable. Prior experience with communication/control technologies for drones are desirable.
