Failure Analysis Wet Lab Chemist

This is an integrated role between the Technology and Manufacturing Group and the Corporate Quality Network. You will use your knowledge of chemistry and laboratory skills to adapt and develop chemical/mechanical methods to enable the debug and failure analysis of products developed at the Folsom site.

As such, you will be exposed to a broad spectrum of advanced packaging and form factors, along with both internal and external process technologies. This is a growth position. The quality and innovation of your contributions will often define the success of subsequent operations within the lab that gate key business actions. The successful candidate will temporarily embed in an existing wet lab at another site for initial training. The candidate will apply these skills and safety practices to the FM lab. With continuous success, you will assume more ownership for the execution of product priorities and lab leadership.

You must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Relevant experience can be obtained through school work, classes and project work, internships, military training, and/ or work experience. This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly.

Minimum Requirements:

  • The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or any related field.
  • Candidate must have the unrestricted right to work in the US without requiring sponsorship.
  • Minimum 6-month lab experience in an analytical lab environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with chemicals typically used in semiconductor decapsulation and deprocessing.
  • Working knowledge of chemical reactions, comfortable working in a lab environment with acids, bases, solvents.
  • Experience with high resolution optical and SEM microscopy.
  • Experience with semiconductor failure analysis methods and failure mechanisms.
  • Experience with industrial and California chemical lab environmental health safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with track record of strict adherence to safety procedures and industry standards for working with hazardous chemicals, disposal, and prevention of incompatible reagents.
