Quality and Reliability Engineer


Develops, applies, and maintains quality and reliability standards for processing materials into partially finished or finished product. Evaluate the materials, process and techniques used in production to meet the requirement of products and production equipment. Specifies inspection and testing mechanism, conduct quality assessment up to and including audits and perform statistical analysis to determine the responsibility for products and systems that do not meet required specifications. Delivers standardization in product qualification, manufacturing quality systems and methods. Provide feedback to BU, TD and/or partner engineering group on design or method and statistical process control procedures including manufacturing systems in HVM. Determines reliability requirements and automated screening methodologies of components and systems to achieve company, customer and any governmental agency reliability objectives. Develops new acceleration techniques, analytical tools and quality screens to assure the early identification of potential problems with new products, packaging, processes, and product quality/reliability. Responds to customer requests or events as they occur. Makes recommendations for changes in design or formulation to improve system and/or process/product reliability.


Qualifications

Job Description: The opening for a Factory Quality and Reliability Engineer will offer a candidate the opportunity to join an exciting environment where engineering and science combine to produce amazing results as an active member of our Silicon Photonics SIPH Quality and Reliability team. The successful candidate will learn about world class quality systems to ensure maximum yield from Factory to Customer, how to monitor metrics in the Factory to predict failure modes and to meet goals, and how to influence teams to drive continuous improvement. Learning how to statistically monitor and troubleshoot semi-conductor reliability failure mechanisms will be a key focus for the successful candidate, and how to risk assess any concerns and make recommendations & decisions based on analysis of experimental and production volume data. The candidate will participate in qualification/certification for process/product startups and upgrades. The scope of this role includes innovating efficiency improvements to best utilize engineering and factory resources. The successful applicant will manage Factory issues with downstream assembly-test customers. The role requires working closely not only with teams on the Intel site, but with teams across multiple geographical locations and in different time zones. Qualifications: Masters/PhD in Materials Engineering, Electronics, Physics, Chemical Engineering or other applicable field required. Candidates should have strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well both in a team and independently. The candidate should be able to manage multiple priorities, deliver on deadlines, and apply a sense of urgency when appropriate. Strong commitment to task is an absolute requirement. The candidate should have an aptitude to learn quickly, and have some experience in technical problem solving.Desired knowledge/experience: InP Laser reliability experience, 2 or more years in a manufacturing environment, experience in III V or Silicon Photonics processing, experience in manufacturing quality and reliability, statistics, coding/programming.
