Research Scientist


Initiates the design, development, execution and implementation of scientific research projects to fuel Intel's growth in the areas of computing, communication, technology and manufacturing and new business opportunity. Investigates the feasibility of applying scientific principles and concepts to potential inventions and products typically 7+ years prior to landing on a product roadmap. Plans and executes laboratory research. Maintains substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories, and contributes to scientific literature and conferences. May participate in development of intellectual property. May coordinate interdepartmental activities and research efforts. Typically holds a PhD.As a Research Scientist within the Microarchitecture Research Lab, Intel Labs, you will work on systems, architecture research to develop breakthrough technologies for enabling the next generation of computing systems. You will work with senior Intel researchers and gain hands-on experience by working on Intel's latest/ greatest production-level designs. At the same time, you can contribute to Intel's development and growth in emerging compute market segments.

Responsibilities may include:-

  • Foundational computer architecture research.
  • Workloads performance and power evaluation and optimizations.
  • Programming system design and optimization

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.  

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must obtain a PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related fields.
  • 1 year + in background and research experience in computer architecture and programming systems.
  • 1 year + of experience with computer vision algorithms.-
  • 1 year+ of experience in-depth knowledge of domain-specific languages, e.g. Halide, etc.
  • 1 year+ experience with FPGA prototyping
