Graphics Software Engineer


The Game Developer Products GDP team is supporting and extending a high profile tool suite for optimizing graphics workloads used in the game industry. GDP offers a fun, exciting, and challenging job that provides a great opportunity to learn, grow, and excel in the field of graphics tools. We are delivering killer tools for tuning Games on Intel's latest graphics silicon. See https://software.intel.com/en-us/gpa for details. As we move through 2017 with our tool suite, we have several areas to expand and explore including new graphics hardware and new graphics APIs. We are actively looking to expand the team in Oregon by adding a junior software developer with a skill base rooted in C++. This position is for the individual with a keen interest in performance profiling and 3D graphics in the gaming industry. The candidate will work to develop, maintain and validate core software components for the Intel Graphics Performance Analyzers GPA on a variety of Intel powered devices and operating systems. The ideal candidate is an energetic and passionate software developer with experience and / or exposure to Graphics and Gaming. Candidates should have a passion for developing and validating high quality code using industry proven techniques such as pair programming, test driven development and continuous integration. The ability to work directly with peers to design, write, review, and influence implementation and test code is necessary.


Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Requirements:
- Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- At the BS level you must have the permanent right to work in the US without requiring sponsorship.
- At least 1 year of experience in software development in C/C++
- At least 1 year of experience in 3D graphics pipeline including a basic understanding of a 3D graphics API such as DirectX, OpenGL, Metal, or Vulkan.

Additional skills:
- Ability to work closely with teammates
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Basic structured software development skills
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
- High attention to detail when writing code, running tests and filing defects.

Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to the Metal Graphics API
- Experience with development on Mac OSX
- Experience writing code in Objective C
