Security Analytics Researcher


Come intern with Intel LABs within Security Privacy Research SPR. The mission of SPR is to drive industry-leading research in Trustworthy Execution, Anti-Malware, Cryptography, and Privacy to deliver the highest robustness and assurance on Intel platforms.The work includes performing research on cybersecurity analytics usages, techniques, and algorithms.

Responsibilities may be quite diverse in a technical nature and will vary significantly depending on the unique needs of the role, U.S. experience and education requirements.

The responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Develop and apply emerging machine learning techniques for novel security usages such as antimalware, anomaly detection, authentication, access control, and event management.
  • Be involved in the full lifecycle of machine learning solution from receipt of data to final model evaluation.
  • Showcase your work through functional demonstrations, papers, and presentations at internal and external forums such as the Intel Developer Forum, Research at Intel, McAfee Focus and external conferences.

The ideal candidate should exhibit the following behavioral traits:

  • Motivated, self-directed and able to work effectively both independently and in a team.
  • Good planning skills.


Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must have a Masters in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or other science/engineering related field.
Minimum of 6 months experience in the following areas:
-Developing software with Python or Matlab
-Data analytics and machine learning

Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience with Big Data analytics solutions
-Experience with design and implementation of large-scale parallel algorithms using frameworks such as Spark, MapReduce, etc.
-Knowledge of signal processing techniques
-Experience developing software with C/C++ or Java
