Job Description

Inspection Engineering has a long tradition and history of excellence. The company has been around for more than 40 years. Inspection Engineering is an A2LA accredited service. Inspection Engineering's scope includes both dimensional inspection services and gage calibration. Qualified technicians perform in-house and field calibration services. All technical staff members are factory trained and follow Guide 17025 procedures. Masters and instruments used are NIST traceable. All procedures meet ISO Guide 17025 requirements.

As an A2LA accredited agency Inspection Engineering's scope includes Coordinate Measuring Machines, Optical Comparators, Vision Systems, Digital Readout Systems, Height Gages. Both calibration and repair service is available on many systems.

Inspection Engineering calibration services are some of the most comprehensive in the industry. Instruments are cleaned, reviewed for serviceable wear, checked for squareness and then tested with N.I.S.T. traceable standards. In addition, your system electronics are inspected for reliability.

Nature and Scope of Job:

This position ensures the quality of products through thorough assessment and analyses using specific procedural standards for integrity. Will be responsible for on-site demonstrations with CMM's and Vision systems.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Performs inspections of company products to determine conformance with specifications
  • Utilized standard mechanical and electrical instruments, functional gauges and test rigs
  • Processes associated documentation, including process tags, rework tags and nonconforming material documents
  • Works under direct supervision and in accordance with instructions and techniques
  • Sets up and tears down training room
  • Manages and maintains quality training material
  • Timely and continued customer follow up
  • Measuring
  • Programming
  • Document control to record data
  • Performs instrument calibration

Qualifications and Skills

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in Science, Engineering or Physics required; Bachelor's degree is preferred
  • Certified Quality Technician (CQT) certification required
  • American Society for Quality (ASQ) certification preferred
  • Experience with CAD (ie Solid Works, Pro-E, Polyworks); CMM; Vision Systems
  • Be able to read architectural, mechanical and electrical blueprints for dimensional inspection and CAD
  • Experience with GD&T and Microsoft software
  • Prior training experience preferred
