The Associate Account Executive opportunity will be located on premise for an Insight Client. The employee is responsible for sales activities related to developing strategic relationships within the account and driving category expansion in partnership with Account Executives (AE) via telephone, email and/or face to face client visits.   This involves, but is not limited to: client contacts, quote generation, RFP response and other sales activities for their assigned accounts.  Pre-sales support functions include: pre-qualification of additional sales, product pricing, research, configuration and product information.

 Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Develop and uncover net new lines of business for assigned accounts at the direction of the AE.
  • Effectively communicate Insight’s complete value proposition.
  • Exhibit Insight knowledge by selling company as a solution to business needs.
  • Create sales quotes based on client requests and solution needs.
  • Prepare bids and proposals for clients.
  • Leverage resources to provide added value to clients in order to maintain excellent customer satisfaction.
  • Responsible for managing total sales and customer satisfaction for assigned accounts.
  • Focus on building relationships in each of the key accounts.
  • Effectively communicate and present to all executive levels of an organization Insight’s complete value proposition.
  • Utilize question based selling methods to ascertain client needs and craft relevant solutions encompassing hardware, software and/or services.
  • Converse effectively about all business issues, displaying excellent telephone and interpersonal communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Transition Service issues to sales discussions.
  • Proactively advise and introduce new solutions to solve client’s business needs.
  • Responsible for providing feedback and reports based on revenue generated and activity pipeline.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate calendars/meetings with AE.
  • Develop relationships with strategic vendor partners and maintain a specific number of appointments as outlined.
  • Develop and maintain a strong knowledge of leading industry trends such as electronic commerce, spend management and technology initiatives.


Product On-site for Insight:


  • You’ll receive all incoming product, pick, pack, and QC all shipping orders, including special handling of small shipments and tracking inventory.  
  • Verify contents of shipment compared to shipping documents while noting any discrepancies, damage, quantity and the correct products
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. consistently

 Productivity Metrics:

 An individual’s performance will be measured against the following metrics. This is not an all-inclusive list and changes in the metrics can be made at the manager’s discretion.

  • # of quotes
  • # of orders
  • Revenue
  • GP



Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or University; or two to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Previous experience selling computer technology with a track record of having consistently exceeded sales goals required.  Strong knowledge of IT products and services needed.



Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, other teammates needed.  Strong communication (verbal and written), organization, and time management skills required.  Solid problem solving and consultative skills a must.  Must be self-driven, motivated and results-oriented.  Able to build relationships and quickly develop trust with clients, as well as internal personnel, needed.  Must be able to solve problems thoroughly and work well under pressure.  Must be able to adhere to tight service level agreements (SLAs) and be able to multi-task effectively.
