As a Solutions Architect you’ll provide consulting, analysis, design, and/or implementation support for networking solutions including pre-site inspections, initial implementations, customization and integration with the intent of optimizing the customer’s operational benefit. Works closely with Datalink, and Insight company, sales, technical services and support group, external vendor partners, and the customer to ensure a smooth implementation and transition.
What you’ll do at Datalink, an Insight company:
- Establish relationship with customer technical teams and technical leads
- Communicate technical architectures to customers, focusing on technical benefits and competitive differentiation
- Assess business opportunity and technical innovations
- Translate customer technical and business requirements into technical solutions
- Build relationships with customer technical and management staff
- Lead or participate effectively in internal matrix working groups centered on sales opportunities; Exchange viewpoints openly and honestly
- Solve technical and business problems for customer projects
- Mentor and coach junior team members
- Produce high-level and detailed technical designs in assigned practice areas that include all necessary solution components
- Derive complex business and technical challenges and develop Datalink proposals that address client needs from an architecture, operations and services perspective; determine strategy in response to RFP
What you’ll need to join Datalink, an Insight company:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience of 4 years related experience in lieu of degree
- 8+ years in technical architecture roles
- 8+ years demonstrated quality success with an Account executive (Sales Partner)
- 4+ years in leading projects and/or teams
- 3+ years in technical pre-sales
- Advanced Industry or vendor certifications in 2 or more technologies within one practice area
- 5+ years hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Cisco Enterprise Networking/Data Center planning, design, deployment and support
- Enterprise network deployment experience with Cisco products
- Excellent knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
- Cisco (2900, 3900, ASR, 3750, 4500, 6500 and Nexus 2K, 5K, 7K, 9K)
- Experience with Cisco enterprise security (NGFW, NGIPS, Firepower)
- TCP/IP and routing protocols (EIGRP, BGP and OSPF)
- Engages in continuous learning to stay abreast on new and emerging technologies. This includes obtaining vendor-related certifications to enhance professional development and corporate standing with vendors/partners.
- Excellent written and oral communications
- In-depth knowledge of complex technical environments
- Understanding of and ability to product financial impact analysis (TCO, ROI)
- Ability to multitask and prioritize workload
- Excellent analytical abilities resulting in problem resolution
- Strong customer relationship skills.
- Cisco CCNP, CCIE preferred
