Job/Position Summary:

The Solutions Account Executive position represents the primary customer facing sales function that drives revenue and manages customer relationships. This individual communicates and sells Insight value, under limited direction, utilizing highly complex and sophisticated products, services, applications, software, and systems to achieve goals and objectives. Responsibilities include the expansion and maintenance of new and existing customer accounts, development and implementation of sales strategies, calling on customers, presenting new concepts, solutions and products, and ensuring adequate sales and engineering support and service

·         Responsible for developing and managing business that generates significant revenues on an annual basis. 

·         Regularly networks within the business and technology community to develop prospects and builds opportunities through persistence and systematic follow-thru.

·         Consistently achieves above-average results by understanding the customer’s business, motivations for purchase, and empathizing with client problems while setting a plan to meet their needs

·          Uses formula of questions with end state in mind to determine prospect fit with services/product; acts with speed and decisiveness to disengage with client if potential for profitable business is not there and spends efforts and resources on prospects most ready and capable of reaching a profitable outcome

·         Develop an account plan(s) in conjunction with Insight resources to use technical and practice expertise aligned to Insight goals and strategies. Collaborates across all business units.  

·         Manage and maintain appropriate Insight information databases utilizing available tools for sales success.

·         Maintains a comprehensive understanding of product and service offerings so that opportunities can be identified in prospect and customer base.

·         Builds and manages relationships with product vendors and suppliers based on strategic direction of Insight.

·         Excels in verbal communication and presentation style that excites the customer while demonstrating value of Insight product and services; keeps presentation relevant and tailored to client need; actively listens.

·         All other duties as assigned / Adhere to Company Core Values

Minimum qualification: (Working environment, Physical demands, Travel, Office vs. field)

·         5+ years proven sales experience in the high-tech industry required, preferably in the areas of data storage, cloud, managed services, unified communications, virtualization and consolidation areas of the industry.

·         BS Degree in a business or technology discipline or 4 years related industry experience in lieu of degree

·         Demonstrated experience working with a variety of industries - must be capable of orchestrating a team of industry, functional, and technical experts to craft a compelling solution for a variety of clients

  • Demonstrated knowledge in identifying compelling events; influencers, decision makers, and buyer in a complex sales cycle
  • Demonstrated expertise to drive complex sale cycles from identification through the close of deals and steps required by customers process to close
  • Ability to present oneself to Customer CXO Leadership as a “Thought Leader” demonstrated by your understanding and ability to speak to Next Generation Data Center  Technologies and Hybrid Cloud consumption models.
  • Passion for continuous self-improvement/education to stay knowledgeable of evolving data center trends such as Software Defined Data Center (SDDC), Software Defined Network (SDN), Software Defined Storage (SDS) and other disruptive data center technologies.
  • Demonstrated sales success in specific market segments (Enterprise, Mid-Market, SLED, Geo etc.)
  • Strong understanding of specific verticals (healthcare, finance, retail, manufacturing), and specific “line of business” (LOB) business “drivers.”
  • Being a student of our industry, and more specifically, of our customers’ business
  • Ability to qualify opportunities, obtain customer commitments, negotiate and close contracts. Must have strong market knowledge of local and surrounding area.
  • Ability to perform all other duties, as assigned
  • Ability to travel up to 100% (at times) is also required
