BASIC FUNCTION OF JOB

The eCommerce Analyst position provides professional eCommerce sales support for account executives, clients, management, and vendors. The focus is on customer-facing ecommerce support, facilitating, and in some cases developing, the customer-specific specific electronic interfaces for Corporate, IPS and Major clients and strategic partners. The eCommerce Analyst may also provide education and basic technical support that will promote and grow our electronic commerce (eCommerce) sales.

  • Meet with internal and external clients and vendors  to gather detailed business requirements
  • Translate complex business requirements into functional, actionable projects which are aligned to departmental and corporate strategies.
  • Present eCommerce offering to sales community, clients and strategic partners Coordinate with eCommerce development and product marketing teams to ensure accurate implementation of site updates through functional validation.
  • Address and resolve the concerns, issues and questions surfaced by internal stakeholders, clients and strategic partners through day to day support channels
  • Assist in the prioritization of work within the department through communication with key business stakeholders as well as objective measurement of benefits and costs.
  • Maintain and report awareness of all ongoing activities in a clear and concise manner
  • Identify opportunities to improve business process through the use of information systems technology.  This includes the identification, analysis, and justification of opportunities; followed with presentations and execution of plans.
  • Establish eCommerce solutions through integration of 3rd party portals such as, but not limited to:  Ariba, SAP, Perfect Commerce, IBX, GHX, and traditional EDI transactions.
  • Serve as a liaison between eCommerce operations and key user groups to assist in making educated, strategically aligned business decisions and technical enhancements/changes.
  • Evangelize eCommerce strategy, vision, and features through client and Sales presentations, responses to RFPs and training classes.
  • Identify and document system defects into appropriate repository (e.g. Quality Center). 
  • Participate in working sessions with developers in order to resolve system defects with the solution that fits our client’s and vendor’s needs.
  • Test/validate changes to the QA and production environments to ensure negative client impact is avoided.
  • Identify necessary test scenarios for key client customizations for regression testing.
  • Communicate with internal/external client’s upcoming code releases and impacts.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university in a business or technical discipline.  MBA or MS a strong plus. Two years’ experience working with an ERP system, preferably SAP.   Four years in one or multiple functional business area(s), business analysis, requirements definition, project management, problem solving in a distribution/light manufacturing environment, preferably with an electronics reseller.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Articulate and professional in both oral and written communication, presentation, persuasion and negotiation to achieve desired result
  • Expected to understand the technical complexity associated with the applications that make up our various internal and external eCommerce tools
  • Solid understanding of software technology, engineering processes, IT industry standards, and software development methodologies
  • Hands-on knowledge with eCommerce technologies such as, XML, HTML, JavaScript , EDI and eProcurement tools including Ariba, Perfect Commerce and SAP experience in project management methodologies, tool, scheduling, technical resource management, cross-teams coordination
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and initiate programs with little hands-on management
  • Well experienced in Microsoft Office tools
  • Demonstrated knowledge of eCommerce functional benefits, interaction with clients and vendors, and integration into a selling proposition
  • Strong business acumen across multiple functional areas (Sales, Marketing, eBusiness, Operations, etc)
  • Experienced in communicating with clients across many different mediums
  • Ambitious, flexible and positive.  A self-starter who can work under general supervision and adapts well to a dynamic work environment
