Accounting Intern

Trane in White Bear Lake is looking for a performance-driven, innovative leader who understands the importance of collaboration and customer focus. This is a temporary internship and will last 18 months and require approximately 25 hours/week. This internship offers candidates working toward their Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, exposure to a variety of assignments which could include: New Product Costing, Cost Accounting, General Accounting, Tax, Accounts Payable, Standard Setting, Financial Analysis, Physical Inventory, Global Internal Audit, Sarbanes-Oxley and Enterprise/Sector Accounting projects just to name a few. As we hire the majority of our full time positions through our intern & co-op talent, successful candidates will have an opportunity to interview for full-time positions with our post-graduate career tracks in the Accelerated Development Program, a leadership rotational program designed for Accounting/Finance. The program consists of a 9-month plant cost accounting assignment, a 9-month flexible assignment and 12 months in Audit Services. This internship will ensure continuous learning and personal development.

Qualifications and Requirements:

* Sophomore or higher, with a GPA of at least 3.0

* Full-time student status working towards a BA/BS with accounting major or minor required.

* Successful completion of, or current enrollment in intermediate accounting is required.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Detail oriented, responsible, dependable, and able to work well in a team environment.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact and build relationships with team personnel, Trane commercial offices, business units, and all customers.
* PC literate and proficient with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Exhibit a solid professional business image with a team player attitude.
* Ability to effectively communicate judgement based decisions
* Supports the QMS by delivering quality products and services and meeting quality objectives
* Works to consistently meet and exceed customer requirements
* Continuously strives for operational excellence and continuous improvement

The employee is frequently required to walk and sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. About Ingersoll Rand

Thermo King's Bronze Program provides you with coverage for interim inspections and preventive maintenance services for 3 years on trailer and 2 years on truck refrigeration units. Bronze Program Includes: Coverage for Interim Inspections and Preventive Maintenance New Trailer and SB Classic units receive 2 Interim Inspections and 1 Preventive Maintenance Service for 3 years up to a maximum of 6,000 hours. Self-Powered Truck units receive 1 Interim Inspection and 1 Preventive Maintenance Service for 2 years/4,000 hours and Vehicle-Powered Truck units receive 2 Interim Inspections for 2 years.
