Job Description

Incumbent is responsible for protective services in guarding government building, property and safeguarding occupants and patient and visitors in and around the clinic and the federal housing area. This position is with the Tsaile Health Center, Security Department, Tsaile, Arizona. Note: Competition for Security Guard position is restricted by law to persons entitled to Veterans' preference as long as such applicants are available for appointment. For applicants applying under the provision of the Excepted Service Examining Plan. Consideration for this position is limited to applicants entitled to Veterans' preference. If there are less than three (3) Veterans available, non-preference eligibility may be considered.The IHS is required by law to give absolute preference to qualified applicants who meet the Secretary of the Interior's definition of Indian for appointment to vacancies within the IHS in accordance with established IHS policy as outlined in the Indian Health Manual Part 7, Chapter 3.
