Job Description

Join us in improving the health outcomes of 2.2 million American Indians and Alaska Natives.This position serves as the manager of IHS Internet Information Services and is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and evaluating the dissemination of information, via the Intranet/Internet, that is suited to the needs of the HIS, OIT, Area and program offices, and the American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) beneficiaries of HIS health care programs.  This includes working with database owners around the Agency to define:  1) available data for public reporting; 2) website reporting requirements that determine data needs; 3) database structures and processing needs; and 4) data storage, maintenance, and updating.This position is located in the Division of Information Technology (DITO), Office of Information Technology (OIT), Indian Health Service (IHS), Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). This position reports to the Director of DITO. The duty station for this position is located in Rockville, MD.The IHS is required by law to give absolute preference to qualified applicants who meet the Secretary of the Interior's definition of Indian for appointment to vacancies within the IHS in accordance with established IHS policy as outlined in the Indian Health Manual Part 7, Chapter 3.
