The Staff Regional Product Marketing Manager will work within the Regional Core Products Market Segment team to provide strategic and tactical marketing support to the region. Working closely with global segment product marketing, regional program managers and various commercial partners (sales, market segment leads, etc.), this individual will lead regional go-to-market planning for our most important and impactful product launches, as well as regional marketing campaigns around existing products and applications that span multiple market segments. This individual will be responsible for the design and execution (through regional resources) of regional go-to-market strategies for new products, the design and execution of marketing campaigns to achieve revenue goals, and serve as a conduit of information from the field (sales and customers) to internal resources.

This individual should have a strong knowledge of the genomics field as demonstrated by past successful marketing positions in the industry. This individual should demonstrate a strong track record of building and executing successful go to market strategies including designing, executing and measuring success of marketing campaigns, and working closely with commercial partners to positively impact sales. Past success in highly matrixed roles is desirable.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and ensure the successful execution of regional go-to-market strategies for key new products (in collaboration with global Core Products Segment marketing and regional program managers)
  • Build and execute marketing campaigns to support new product introductions, as well as drive sales of existing products.
  • Collaborate with the regional commercial team to collect input regarding effective messaging in the field, hurdles to sale, effective identification of target audience, and identification and execution of field activities to support sales.
  • Monitor marketing performance and optimize efforts based on data, insights, market knowledge and field input
  • Design and execute targeted regional multi-channel marketing campaigns according to strategic plans (in conjunction with regional marketing programs, and other internal support teams).
  • Identify and create (in conjunction with regional partners) effective targeted regional selling tools.
  • Participate in yearly planning and budgeting of the Regional Core Products Segment Marketing plan in conjunction with regional and global partners.
  • Provide field information to Global Core Products Segment team on potential product promotions & bundles, pricing, messaging effectiveness, sales tools to be developed, etc.
  • Facilitate selling of core products through interaction with and training of the Sales Specialists organization


Background and Skills required:

  • 5yrs+ experience in and deep knowledge of the genomics industry with a passion for its impact on human health.
  • Success in developing market segmentation, targeting, and positioning strategies across multiple markets 
  • Must have designed the strategy for, and led the execution of, multiple successful marketing programs and product launches.
  • Must have experience supporting a commercial sales team; sales experience is a plus.
  • Experience designing and assuring the execution of multi-channel digital marketing programs
  • Proficient communicator with innate internal and external sales skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and business acumen.
  • Proficient in a data-driven approach to decision making
  • Ability to interact effectively in an environment with diverse stakeholder groups within a global, matrixed organization 
  • Willing to travel up to 20% if in San Diego. Travel up to 50% if remote.
