Business Process Engineering Reports Developer /Web Software Developer (Contractor)

Brooks Instrument, an industry leader in flow measurement and flow control products for critical applications, and a division of ITW (A Fortune 200 Company), is seeking a Software Developer

to support our Engineering team on a Full Time (3-6 month) contract basis. This position will be based out of our headquarters facility in Hatfield, PA (Suburban Philadelphia), In addition to our Pennsylvania manufacturing facilities,

Brooks maintains manufacturing locations in Hungary, Korea and Japan. The Company also maintains sales and service offices throughout the world to support our products which are used in laboratory and process applications in end markets such as: life sciences,

chemicals, semiconductor, analytical instruments, nuclear, and solar cells.

Basic Function

This temporary role is responsible for supporting a major project initiative to upgrade Brooks' configure-price-quote sales application. The Software Developer is responsible for design & development of reports and forms needed to support business processes.

This position will collaborate with Business Stakeholders, Business Leaders, and subject matter experts to design, develop and support Business Intelligence information (reports, dashboards, self-service forms, workflow) using the following tools (XpertDoc,

Infor ION Ming.le, CPQ, Crystal Reports, and/or SSRS). The successful candidate must be able to play multiple roles including architect, report developer, metadata modeler, SQL programmer, and end user trainer/mentor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Perform functions relating to product configurator engines by interfacing with cross-functional teams and creating focus on top priority deliverables.


* Develop sales portal web documents/forms using XpertDoc, CPQ Design Studio, Crystal Reports, SSRS, and/or other reporting tools


* Gather and understand business requirements to set functional specifications for reporting applications


* Clearly convey the key insights or 'story' the data reveals in a visual format that is grouped, summarized, or formatted to be easily understood and actionable


* Define or assist with best practices during implementation and integration of Database development


* Ability to work and get along with others in a highly collaborative fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.


* Provide input to project planning, status and review meetings.
* Perform unit and integration testing and participate in reporting validation
* Follows all Brooks attendance and safety procedures.
* Successfully performs other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

* Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience in related roles


* 1+ years' experience creating advanced reports using Microsoft SSRS, Crystal Reports, Business Objects preferred


* Knowledge of SQL with the ability to write complex SQL queries
* Understanding of Business Intelligence solutions: operational and analytical
* Strong knowledge of relational and multi-dimensional database architectures, data mining, data warehouses


* Infor CPQ or CRM Sales Portal experience a plus
* Process-oriented, goal driven, with strong conceptual and analytical skills required.


* Excellent oral and written communication skills required
* Understanding of Various Web Development skills: .NET, HTML, C#, XML, JavaScript, preferred
