Job Description

Join us as a UX Intern and you'll get the chance to work with and learn from a team of 13 experienced design and user research professionals. We work on a wide range of integrated veterinary diagnostic and information management products: mobile apps, cloud-based applications as well as embedded systems and desktop applications.

Responsibilities:

* During a typical day, a user experience researcher will delve into a few different research projects, all of which are in various stages of completion. Honing the message for stakeholders for a final presentation, interviewing a customer over the phone or visiting a practice, and writing, launching, or analyzing a survey, are often among our daily tasks. Some projects are tackled in pairs, others are run independently, but the team carves out time each week to brainstorm together, revise presentations, and talk about our projects. Representing the voice of our customers to product teams and executives is an awesome challenge and a fun undertaking.

Skills:

* Interest in UX Research
* Good communication skills
* Knowledge of common software platforms

Requirements: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age or have completed at least one year of college. A track record of student success and potential as demonstrated by GPA, research portfolio, prior work experiences and/or the recommendation of a professor preferred.

About the IDEXX Intern Program: IDEXX Interns will have the opportunity for hands-on research and work experience in our cutting-edge research facility to supplement course of study. Interns will gain real-world experience and may be assigned to project teams.

These roles are compensated at a competitive rate; interns will work full-time hours for the summer months.

In addition to professional experiences, IDEXX interns have the opportunity to participate in a variety of additional activities, including:

* Weekly small-group meetings to discuss their internships with other students and mentors
* "Lunch and Learn" seminars on research topics with our leadership team
* Workshops on relevant issues such as career planning, professional topics, etc.
* Intern final presentations
* Social mixers and events
