Job Description

Current Product Engineer

Location: Kokomo, IN

Duration: 6-7 months


Role and Responsibilities

Product Manufacturing Location (PML) Current Product Engineer (CPE) Employee Key Job Elements.

Provide product engineering technical support to the Kokomo Morgan Street (KMS) PML Product Quality Team, and operations

Lead KMS operations and customer satisfaction in the execution of first level line pull First Time Quality (FTQ) analysis on Electrification products

Perform real time second level FTQ analysis in accordance with established metrics

Work with customer satisfaction to lead the efforts to improve FTQ on production products

Perform analysis of customer assembly plant returns with 24 hours initial assessment

Perform warranty analysis on customer returns to KMS PML

Initiate measures to improve customer RPPM and warranty CPV/IPTV

Evaluate and approve supplier component substitutions

Lead supplier change evaluation at the KMS PML and provide technical support to the customers

Initiate and implement Material Cost Improvement Process (MCIP) projects on products at the KMS PML

Partner with customer satisfaction to lead product scrap reduction initiatives at KMS PML

Provide CPE support for new product launches

Proactively plan for CPE lab test benches for new product launches

Lead product configuration change management at the KMS PML (Product CR/CN)

Utilize Six Sigma tools to effectively provide technical problem solving analysis.

Qualifications And Education Requirements

* Experience with on-board Chargers
* Experience with High Voltage, High Power electronics
* Must have a BSEE degree

Preferred Skills

* Six Sigma problem solving skills
* 0 to 3 years of relevant experience. College degree with a major in engineering. Training in computer applications.
