Synthesizes customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledges technical, schedule and cost constraints. Develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for completing systems. Coordinates integrated testing activities. Reviews and evaluates test requirements to insure completeness of test program. Performs technical analysis of complete systems and prepares comprehensive system level evaluations.

Basic Qualifications

2 Years with Bachelors in Science; 0 Years with Masters (ABET accredited degree in Engineering REQUIRED)

Preferred Qualifications

Responsibilities for a Nuclear Procedure Writer Engineer include developing, preparing, and reviewing nuclear operational and testing procedures.

Therefore, candidates for this position will have a strong background of technical knowledge and experience working in the Navy Nuclear Power industry.

Preferred candidates -

Have experience in reactor plant operations and can demonstrate a detailed knowledge level of principles, practices, and procedures associated with the reactor plant. Can apply their broad knowledge and technical expertise in areas such as reactor plant maintenance (including work control management), water chemistry control, radiological control, integrated plant operations testing, hydrostatic test manual requirements, fluid and electrical system operations, and development of temporary support systems.

Are able to work independently on tasks/projects with limited supervision and receive guidance only for unusual or complex projects or issues.

Exercise considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments including testing risk mitigation.

Identify problems and develop technical solutions to complex problems, which require regular use of ingenuity and creativity.

Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings to resolve reviewer comments.

Possess good computing skills and familiarity with the use of Microsoft Office products is preferred.

Experience working as a qualified Shift Test

Engineer or Test Engineer writing waterfront documents (COAs, NAVSEA letters, trouble records, etc...) is a plus.
