Description

The purpose of this program is to allow an undergraduate student the opportunity to work for Humana in an Internal Audit role for one semester (spring, summer, or fall). This student will work full-time, engaging themselves in the riveting work and culture of Humana to further advance their future career.

The associate will gain knowledge of the audit process by working on various types of audits, performing planning, testing, and report preparation. Associates will have the opportunity to work alongside Certified Public Accountants (CPA), Certified Internal Auditors (CIA), Project Managers, etc. that make up the diverse backgrounds of the Internal Audit culture.

Responsibilities

Human is seeking an Internal Audit Intern. Although responsibilities will vary by segment within the Internal Audit department, the following are examples of typical job duties:

* Assist in planning for upcoming audits and determining the scope for current year audits
* Document walkthrough discussions of processes in scope for the current audit year
* Perform interim and year-end testing related to Sarbanes Oxley program (SOX) business areas
* Complete ad hoc tasks related to SOX Program management and other Internal Audit projects
* Interact weekly with the external auditor (PriceWaterhouse Cooper) to ensure alignment of in scope audits and controls
* Update internal process documentation based on requests by business areas

Required Qualfications

* Be completing undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance
* Be at least a junior or senior in college during the time of participation in the program
* Have a current overall and accounting/finance GPA of 3.4 or better at the time of application & maintain GPA until start of participation in the program
* Have the ability to work 40 onsite hours per week during the semester employed by Humana.
* Associate must obtain housing in the Louisville Metro Area and provide own transportation to and from the office. Note: Humana has discounts with TARC if affordable transportation is needed
* Completed all standard entry level accounting or finance courses and computer information systems courses offered by his/her respective university
* Be organized, self-motivated, and efficient in completing tasks timely
* Actively seek to be a team player, living out Humana's value of thriving together
* Possess the ability to be dependable and punctual, maintaining a consistent work schedule, and communicating with manager if schedule must change
* Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - specifically Excel and Outlook
