Job Description

Hotel & Leisure Advisors is a boutique hospitality consulting firm based in Lakewood, Ohio with a satellite office in Texas. We specialize in appraisals, feasibility studies, and impact analyses for hotels, resorts, waterparks, casinos, conference and convention centers, golf courses, ski resorts, and other leisure real estate. We are searching for a part time Director of Business Operations.

Summary

The Director of Business Operations is responsible for managing the Finance, IT, Human Resources, and Marketing functions of the firm. The Director of Business Operations reports to the President, supervises the support staff, and interacts with all staff members. The position has a high degree of autonomy to implement processes, new projects, and improvements to company operations.

Responsibilities

Finance: develop and evaluate budget; analyze trends; manage cash flow, expenses, collections, and bank relationship; implement cost savings; manage vendor relationships, work with outside bookkeeper; use QuickBooks Online

Technology: evaluate and update IT strategic plan; understand, support and improve business consulting models in Excel for appraisal and feasibility studies; work with the managed services provider to escalate support issues, coordinate implementation projects; provide first level internal support as needed

Marketing: collaborate with the Marketing Coordinator on marketing strategy and budget; may interact with prospective clients, provide information about the firm, and draft proposals as needed

Human Resources: process payroll using Paycor; calculate monthly incentive compensation and quarterly bonus payments; maintain confidential employee records; administer employee benefits including the SIMPLE-IRA; work with external Human Resources Consultant

Operations: develop and implement processes to improve operations, monitor costs, and improve staff morale and productivity; facilitate the company strategic business planning process; supervise the support staff (4 - 5 employees); review and edit reports and assist consultants as needed; manage the relationship with building management

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in applicable discipline (eg, business, technology, accounting, finance); Master's degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in business operations (finance, consulting, technology, etc.)
  • Financial and business acumen
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Organizational and management skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Attention to detail with a passion for quality and accuracy of work
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (written and verbal communications)
  • QuickBooks Online and payroll (Paycor) experience preferred
  • Experience in the hospitality and/or consulting industries a plus

Flexible schedule, approximately 25 - 30 hours per week
