Job Description

The ESEA - ATSA Engineering (Air Transport and Specialty Applications) organization has an exciting opportunity for an entry level Applications Engineer I at out Phoenix, AZ facility. The Applications Engineer will be working with specialty avionics development programs and the SA team to develop modification and upgrade solutions for legacy OEM and aftermarket avionics systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Interacting with technical contacts for both aircraft OEM and aftermarket customers.
Establishing and maintaining technical relationships with customer engineering organizations.
Developing positive working relationships with internal Product and System COEs.
Defining customer requirements.
Transitioning customer requirements to system and product level requirements.
Performing system level design.
Performing system safety analysis.
Performing system integration test development and coordinating test activities.
Coordination of flight test activities for avionics upgrades and modifications.
Generating system level and associated certification documentation.
Participate in program schedule development activities.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, science or related technical discipline.
- Due to ITAR restrictions, candidate must be US Citizen or permanent resident of US.
- Must complete the highest level of education, no more than 12 months prior to hire date.

Additional Qualifications:
- Strong problem solving abilities.
- Strong communications, both written and verbal, skills.
- Aviation background or strong interest in aviation preferred.
