Honeywell Quantum Solutions is focused on developing the world's most advanced quantum computers, with 'full stack' capability from user interface software to the hardware layer and trapped ions. Our team's expertise in complex hardware and software control systems, advanced optics and lasers, magnetics, cryogenics, atomic physics, and ultra-high vacuum environments is being used to design and build systems with unmatched error rates and capabilities.

We are seeking graduate level researchers in physics or computer science to join our theory team and help us understand how to analyze and optimize the performance of our quantum computers.

The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of quantum mechanics and quantum computation in the circuit model. You would be working closely with our theory team in analyzing quantum circuits and their compilation, quantum error correction and physical implementation of logic gates in trapped ion systems.

The location for this position will be Broomfield, CO.

You Must Have

* Must be enrolled in a master's or PhD program with 2 years of graduate level experience in physics or computer science
* Due to US export control laws, must be a US citizen

We value

* Basic knowledge of quantum mechanics
* Research experience in analyzing quantum circuits, quantum compilers or quantum error correction
* Experience coding in Python, C++ or equivalent languages
* Basic knowledge of AMO physics
* Experience with numerical programming and optimization
