Mechanical Engineering Intern

The Mechanical Engineer COOP position is responsible for the development and improvement of electro-mechanical products and processes related to air-flow control and monitoring products and accessories. The position reports to the Mechanical Engineering Manager, and will work with the Mechanical Group and interact with related departments for experimental investigation, prototyping, final design, and release to manufacturing of new and improved products. RESPONSIBILITIES: Analysis and design of mechanical components, including material selection and required fabrication and assembly methods for current and future products, Technical organization and conduction of projects encompassing the design, analysis, evaluation, modification and fabrication of mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies and components, Independent investigation of complex technical problems including testing and the design and implementation of appropriate solutions, and Documentation of all tasks through reports, sketches, drawings, bills of materials including ECOs and new product releases

You must have:

* Enrolled in Mechanical Engineering Degree program

We Value:

* Studied: fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, mechanisms, and mechanical vibration
* Exposure to volume manufacturing methods including various metal formed or plastic injection molded components and assemblies, sheet metal packaging, springs, shafts, linkages and controls
* Understanding of manufacturing and assembly methods and equipment
* Computer literacy with Microsoft applications and CAD systems (Pro/E preferable); superior organization, communication and documentation skills
* Ability to work as an individual contributor or as a member of a cross-functional team
