Job Description

Honeywell has an opening for an entry level Systems Engineer, to be located in Phoenix, Arizona.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Developing and integrating aircraft simulation models of various levels of fidelity into the test environments and developing or modifying existing software to implement new requirements or bug fixes.
* Using aircraft system level knowledge to diagnose and performing end-to-end debugging of test environment problems to determine root cause and then implementing solutions.
* Working with customers to understand requirements that define the test environments or problems reported, developing fixes and updates and reporting to management on status, progress and issues.

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelors degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering or Computer Science, Physics or Math, from an accredited college or university
* 6 months work or school experience, with emphasis on systems and software/simulation design, development and checkout
* Due to export controls, US Citizenship or US Lawful Permanent Resident status is required
* Must not graduate more than 12 months prior to date of hire

Additional Qualifications:

* Fluent in various programming languages and operating systems (i.e., C, C . FORTRAN, Perl, Microsoft Visual Studio, Linux, Windows) and experienced in designing and debugging software
* Knowledge of aircraft avionics testing, test environments, IO drivers and modeling, aircraft systems, aircraft system modeling, aerodynamics, control laws, system simulations, etc. is highly preferred
* Experience working with aircraft simulation models such as aero, engines, auto-pilot, primary and secondary flight controls, radios, auto-throttle, system controllers, actuator simulations, etc.
* Preferred experience is with simulations of large commercial aircraft and business and regional jets
* Knowledge of different I/O buses, avionics buses and ARINC standards is a plus
