PAID - Weekly for Co-op Program


This job description reflects potential openings for the Fall 2019 Co-op/Internship Session (May - August). This is a general job description and represents multiple openings in various departments at Honda Manufacturing of Alabama, HMA. HMA offers both single and multi-semester co-ops and internships. College students must apply to their semester of interest.

Minimum Job Relevant Knowledge:

* Students must be enrolled in a 4 year university
* Completed at least 1 semester of Sophomore year
* Minimum GPA requirement 2.5

Prioritized Duties and Responsibilities:

Accounting: In this area students may work in Accounts Payable reconciling supplier statements or in Trade Compliance coordinating special projects concerning U.S. customs. Students may also work in General Ledger assisting with month end close or in Cost Accounting supporting Budget analyst work.

Manufacturing / Quality Engineering: Students in this area may work to support and direct manufacturing areas to determine root cause of problems and assist with implementation of countermeasure activity related to all aspects of auto manufacturing.

Purchasing / Supply Chain: Students in this area may work alongside other Honda associates in daily management of a supplier base. Students will work with key systems for ordering, part receipt verification, and supplier performance reporting. Maintaining, monitoring, and adjusting inventory levels are also key learning opportunities in this area in addition to special projects.

Administration / Human Resources: Students in this area may work in Benefits or Associate Relations in policy development related projects and job analysis. Staffing will expose students to exempt and non-exempt candidate sourcing and screening processes. In Development, students will work with multiple training systems and processes, conduct in -depth analysis, and countermeasure gaps as identified.
