(Outpatient Physical Therapist - Must have "Outpatient PT Experience!")

Position Description:

The Physical Therapist organizes and conducts physical therapy programs for individuals referred by a physician to restore function and prevent disability following disease, injury or loss of body part. Helps patient reach maximum performance within their disabilities.

* Emphasis will be on Outpatient Physical Therapy* Candidates must have a minimum of one year Outpatient Physical Therapy experience.

Education, Skills & Experience Required:

Bachelor's or Master's of Science Degree in Physical Therapy. New Jersey Licensed or eligible. Capable of frequent lifting and transferring of weight of to 300 pounds. Treats patients of all ages with all types of disabilities and multiple medical problems. Performs other related or miscellaneous duties as directed by superiors. Prior inpatient and outpatient physical therapy experience is required. Candidates must have a minimum of one year outpatient physical therapy experience.

Specific Responsibilities:

____ Evaluates and plan specific treatment programs upon the referral of a physician.

____ Treats and documents progress of patients in a timely fashion

____ Evaluates the extent of the disability through pertinent chart findings and objective evaluation procedures

____ Administers therapeutic exercise directly

____ Teaches rehabilitation techniques to overcome disability through the use of supportive devices

____ Assists with discharge planning.

____ Maintains and cares for all therapeutic equipment in all patient areas.

____ Instructs other health professionals, support personnel and patient, families in proper safety and exercise programs.

____ Coordinates schedule of assigned in-patients or out-patients

____ Maintains statistical reports as requested.

____ Records treatment data and progress notes in the medical records. Reports on patient progress at rounds or other clinical team meetings

____ Assists in departmental marketing and educates medical and other hospital staff about services provided by physical therapy.

____ Supervises affiliating students as per assignment of the Senior Education Physical Therapist

____ Fulfills other assigned duties and tasks as needed.

Requirements- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Physical Therapy and licensed to practice as a Physical Therapist in the State of New Jersey.

* Job requires extensive standing, walking, lifting crouching, stooping, reaching, kneeling, stair climbing, writing, computer use, driving and phone use. Capable of frequent lifting and transferring of weight of to 300 pounds.
* Emphasis will be on Outpatient Physical Therapy* Candidates must have a minimum of one year outpatient physical therapy experience.
