Job Description

The Internship:

As a summer intern, you will have the opportunity to work alongside partners, managers, seniors, and peers as a member of an audit engagement team. You will better understand what a career in audit entails and participate in numerous office and firm-wide activities to gain a better understanding of HCVT's culture and core values. We encourage every intern to build lasting relationships with their co-workers and intern class.

The internship program will start on June 17, 2019 and end on August 9, 2019.

Responsibilities

* Prepares federal and multi-state income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts; also prepares related income tax work papers.
* Prepares correspondence to taxing authorities.
* Works with other members of a team on a variety of engagements.
* Identifies accounting and income tax issues and proposes strategies to resolve them.
* Communicates status of work and issues with seniors, managers or partners on a timely basis.
* Develops strong relationships with firm and client personnel.
* Work with your buddy and performance manager on professional development both technical and soft skills.

Requirements

* Graduate with a bachelor's or master's in accounting or taxation
* Minimum Overall and Accounting GPAs of 3.0
* Be CPA ready before start date
* Graduation Date Range: December 2019 - June 2020
* Currently an active member of the Accounting Association or Beta Alpha Psi
* Strong technical aptitude and communication skills
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
* Positive attitude with a can-do spirit.
