Job Description

The Physician Performance Facilitator is responsible for facilitating the Medical Staff to support credentialing process.  The Physician Performance Facilitator is responsible for implementing an innovated program to improve clinical care through sharing outcome data with key physician partners.

 

Essential Functions

 

  • Validates data used in physician credentialing process and provider performance evaluations to ensure data quality and accuracy.
  • Coordinates with Medical Staff leaders to identify and evaluate potential outliers in performance.
  • Communicates with Medical and Allied Health Staff to review and explain performance metrics.

 

Education, Training and Experience

 

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related healthcare field or similar experience
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with Medical Staff Services, clinical quality, or peer review

 

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in nursing or related healthcare field
  • 5 years’ relevant experience
  • 2+ years’ previous performance improvement experience
  • Experience with database systems and SQL coding

 

Skills or Other Qualifications

 

Required

  • Understanding of healthcare practices, data and technologies, medical terminology and coding methodologies
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to cultivate strong working relationships with business executives and physicians.
  • Able to translate complex analytic concepts and communicate effectively to non-technical persons.
  • Advanced clinical analytic skills; deep knowledge of clinical metrics; ability to apply statistical methods to data.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of staff within Hoag.
  • Customer focused; excellent attention to detail.
  • Able to be self-directed and work with minimal supervision.
  • Able to manage multiple complex projects, while meeting all deadlines and coordinate people to achieve optimal results.
  • Able to work effectively and develop solutions to problems independently and as part of a team.
 
  • Quantitative, analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills.  Comfortable working with and manipulating data

 

Preferred

  • Knowledge of key Hoag systems (EPIC, SCM, Affinity, ePSI, QlikView)
  • Understanding of project management requirements, quality assurance and change management processes
  • Knowledge of performance improvement principles, tools and techniques.
 
  • Experience in data governance and knowledge of data management principles
