Description This a Test Engineer position joining the HP 3PAR SQA Systems Test group within HP Storage. Responsibilities include creating and executing tests that stress all aspects of the StoreServ feature set, documenting test cases insomuch that they can be executed by other team members, identifying areas of improvement, and evaluating customer facing documentation for technical accuracy and comprehensiveness. Assigned area of ownership includes testing of large scale Fibre Channel, iSCSI, and FCoE SAN configurations against newly developed as well as currently shipping software releases and hardware platforms. The successful candidate should: * Be adept at tuning and troubleshooting complex systems, and possess the skills to drive issues to root cause. * Be an energetic team player adept at multitasking. * Be flexible with a commitment to delivering on schedule a high quality product. * Frequently contribute to the development of new ideas and methods. * Enjoy working on complex problems/projects where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors. * Exercise significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives. * Lead and/or provide expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives. Responsibilities * Codes new test cases, enhancements, updates, and changes for portions and subsystems of systems software, including operating systems, networking, fabrics, and tools. * Executes established test plans and protocols for assigned portions of code; identifies, logs, and debugs assigned issues. * Develops understanding of and relationship with internal and outsourced development partners on software systems design and development. * Participates as a member of project team of other software systems engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high quality solutions for low to highly-complex products. Qualifications Education and Experience * Must have graduated with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent within the last year. * Minimum 0-2 years experience Knowledge and Skills * Experience or understanding of software systems design tools and languages. * Understand theory behind complex system level test plans, test cases and test reports * Must have excellent analytical skills and be able to debug complex system problems * Experience working with Linux; debugging, performance tuning, and troubleshooting * White or Grey box test knowledge * FC, iSCSI, FCoE, and SCSI knowledge * TCP/IP Networking, administration, and planning * Solid Scripting Skills in Perl, Shell, Expect, or TCL * Experience with protocol analyzers/traces * Administrative level knowledge of several Tier 1 Operating Systems
