Job Description

HP is seeking to identify highly motivated and qualified individuals for various future opportunities as a Software Information Developer.

In anticipation of these opportunities becoming available, completing a profile will allow us to evaluate your qualifications and interests and will allow us to stay connected.

Entry Level
Business Application Development, Maintenance & Production Support; Designing, developing and maintaining customer business solutions. Candidates must be client-facing, have solid communication skills. Work is full-time in an HP office, with some client-site visits. Periodic on-call and/or after-hours support may be required. Must have PC skills and basic MS Office skills. Ability to travel beyond local metro area optional, but not required.

- Participates as a member of development team.
- Completes development of units with designs prepared by more senior developers.
- Participates in code reviews.
- Prepares and executes unit tests.
- Applies growing technical knowledge to maintain a technology area (e.g. Web-site Development).
- Performs work assigned by others.
- Accountable for own work.

Intermediate Level
Business Application Development, Maintenance & Production Support; Designing, developing and maintaining customer business solutions. Specialist Level

Candidates must be client-facing, have solid communication skills. Work is full-time in an HP office, with some client-site visits. Periodic on-call and/or after-hours support may be required. Must have PC skills and basic MS Office skills. Ability to travel beyond local metro area optional, but not required. Participates as a member of development team or teams; may lead a small development team.

- Designs units for others. Completes development to implement complex components.
- Contributes to design activities; may design solutions.
- Develops independently; participates in code reviews and may lead code reviews. May lead and provide mentoring and guidance to less senior developers.
- Designs, prepares and executes unit tests.
- Applies in-depth or broad technical knowledge to maintain one or more technology areas (e.g. Web-site Development).
- Applies company and 3rd party technologies to complex software solutions of moderate complexity.
- Independently implements end-user or enterprise solutions complexity or services prepared by more senior technologists for more complex solutions.
- May assign work to others.
- Provides time / resource estimates for assigned tasks.

Expert Level

Technical Bachelor's degree or equivalent and a minimum of 1-3 years of related experience. May include highly experienced individuals performing entry-level equivalent work who are non-degreed or degreed in an unrelated field.

Knowledge and Skills:
- 1-3 years of experience writing code using languages such as J2EE, UNIX & SQL
- Basic Understanding of RDBMS databases such SQL Server and Oracle.
- Basic understanding of testing tools and unit test scripting.
- Experience using (or an understanding of the use of) an Integrated Development Environment (e.g., Eclipse, Visual Studio).

Typically a technical Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 3 years of related experience or a Master's degree and up to two years of experience.

Knowledge and Skills:
- 3 years of experience writing code using languages such as J2EE, UNIX & SQL.
- Basic understanding of RDBMS databases such SQL Server and Oracle.
- Basic understanding of modern software design and development methodologies (e.g., OO).
- Basic understanding of modern SCM (software configuration management).
- Basic understanding of testing tools and unit test scripting, and testing Methodologies.
- Experience using (or an understanding of the use of) an Integrated Development Environment (e.g., Eclipse, Visual Studio).
- Understanding of basic Database Administration. Understanding of quality and security standards.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.

- Experience on one or more full release project life cycles.
- Strong understanding of modern SCM (software configuration management).
- Basic understanding of testing tools and unit and integration test scripting, and testing methodologies.
- Experience using an Integrated Development Environment (e.g., Eclipse, Visual Studio).
- Strong understanding basic Database Administration.
- Able to apply consistently quality and security standards.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Developing general project management/team leader skills.

- Experience on multiple full release project life cycles. Advanced understanding of modern SCM (software configuration management).
- Advanced understanding of testing tools and unit test and integration test scripting, and testing methodologies.
- Advanced experience using an Integrated Development Environment (e.g., Eclipse, Visual Studio) and development of tool add-ins. Strong understanding of basic Database Administration.
