HP Software (Big Data division) is looking for a full time entry level software engineer to be part of a top-notch software development team located in the San Francisco Bay Area. This team is responsible for developing and innovating on HP Software's industry leading enterprise level Web Content Management solutions product line. Our products include Compliance, Legal Discovery and other applications used by thousands of users from large enterprises in the world.
The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for reviewing requirements and developing automated test suite for a new cloud based web application currently in development. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated mastery of Core Java (Java8), RDBMS (PostGres, MySQL, MSSQL), Cloud Virtualization, Hadoop and/or Openstack and other highly scalable back-end server technologies. In addition, applicant must demonstrate excellent problem solving skills with interest to grow and develop professionally. This position will work closely and collaboratively with other engineers in the team and Quality Assurance, during all phases of the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

Review and understand product requirements.
Design and implement an automated test suite based on requirements.
Utilize the latest industry standard design & implementation tools and frameworks (Java, J2EE, Web 2.0 etc.) to develop world-class software.
Document and publish requirement, design and functional specifications for use by internal teams.
Manage the continuous integration servers and build environment.
Membership on an energetic Agile/Scrum development team participating in daily standups and overall contributor in 3 week sprints.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
Minimum 0-2 years experience
Knowledge and Skills

Experience or understanding of software applications design tools and languages.
Good analytical and problem solving skills.
Understanding of design for software applications running on multiple platform types
Understanding of basic testing, coding, and debugging procedures
Good written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.
