Job Description

HP is seeking a talented individual who can create innovative software development tools and release engineering infrastructure. The right candidate will join a small team engaged in building a world-class automated build framework, providing tools to accelerate hundreds of developers, and delivering new software releases and patches to customers safely and securely. This position is located in Boise, Idaho.


Manage makefiles, directory layout, installation scripts, versioning, packaging, and publishing of build artefacts for a large, Linux-based software project.

Develop powerful, flexible build automation solutions that grow with the business.

Deploy and support software configuration management tools for multiple software products and development teams.

Manage software, hardware, and cloud assets in a real-time, automated environment.

Drive adoption and integration of new technologies.

Champion best practices by providing examples, training, and instructions to several hundred software developers.

Invent tools which simplify the development environment, reduce errors, and increase the productivity of others.

Digitally sign official software releases for secure delivery to customers.

Support, enhance, and extend existing build frameworks and development tools.

Design, document, review, implement, test, and deliver innovative new solutions based on requirements from the business and from partner teams.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent

1 years of software development or release engineering experience

Experience with Debian Linux and Windows

Familiarity with multiple source control management (SCM) tools

Familiarity with C/C and Python or similar programming languages

Strong problem solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills

Working knowledge of advanced data structures and algorithms

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.

Ability to work in fast paced, collaborative environment
Preferred Qualifications:

Scripting experience with Bash, Perl and Python

Object-oriented development experience with C/C

Experience with Jenkins or similar build automation tools

Experience with Puppet, Chef, or other configuration management tools

Familiarity with database design and administration
