About IHPS:
The HP Inkjet Web Press is a new industrial printing solution built on HP Scalable Inkjet Printing Technology. We have revolutionized the digital web press industry by offering full-color, variable data printing at unprecedented speeds and paper widths. We are looking for a highly motivated and talented individual to apply an intermediate level of electrical engineering and FPGA knowledge to improve the innovative electronics and peripherals! Be a part of a fast-paced R&D division and gain hands-on experience with hardware, PCAs, FPGA design, scripting, and debugging.

Position Overview:
We seek a talented and energetic student intern to work in HP's Rancho Bernardo campus in San Diego, CA as part of the Electrical Engineering Team. The intern will be responsible for developing scripting algorithms, porting code from legacy systems, benchmarking performance & quality of designs, developing FPGA code , and creating and executing test plans for new electronics developments. All projects will be related to developing an ecosystem for HP's industrial Webpress products, which may include small core processors, multi-core processors, FPGAs, GPUs, DSP processors, etc. The intern position will involve duties such as analyzing & resolving technical issues, developing code and debugging hardware, and communicating with internal HP and 3rd party teams.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with both Windows and Linux systems, an understanding of circuit fundamentals, and experience with either VHDL or verilog programming languages.

- Understanding of basic electrical circuits, with electrical circuit design experience as a plus.
- VHDL or Verilog FPGA programming experience
- Other high level language programming experience (e.g., C, JAVA, C )
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux environments.
- Analytical skills to debug algorithms
- Ability to organize & collect data (script through results files), analyze & harvest data, and communicate/summarize key results

Education and Experience Required:

High School Degree 3rd Year of University completed-typically a technical degree specialization
