Title: Software Developer - Java (Public Trust Clearance) Minimum Clearance Level: Public Trust Clearance Citizenship Required: US Citizenship Type of Business: Contingent Site: California - Seaside Job Description: PURPOSE: In support of the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) this entry level Java Developer will work in the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting Systems (DEERS) Division In supporting the Enrollment & Eligibility branch products to include migration of existing systems to newer technology in addition to maintaining and enhancing existing applications. Work will include new development and design efforts. PROJECT SUMMARY: The candidate is expected to provide the services that are required, to successfully implement and deliver solutions in the J2EE platform, that are stable, reliable, scalable, well documented, and of high quality. This candidate will work on the military's healthcare software system to provide code relative to benefits enrollment & eligibility information.

This Java / JEE Developer designs, develops, implements, and supports business applications using Java technologies for the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC). This particular position requires front end or backend design and implementation experience. Tasking would include: coordinates and collaborates with others in analyzing collected requirements to ensure plans and identified solutions meet customer needs and expectations. Working in a highly collaborative and teaming environment this person will develop and execute unit test plans, ensuring that results are documented and reviewed with the Business Analyst and Quality Assurance teams responsible for integrated testing. This developer will create technical and design documentation in support of new development, upgrades and enhancements. This developer should understand standard web practices to aid their team towards utilizing new technologies as well as unit testing best-practices.
- Entry Level hands-on experience developing J2EE applications on Weblogic 10.0 Application Server
- Experience developing and implementing JAX-RPC/Restful based web services desired
- Knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems including knowledge of data modeling concepts, ERD design and development
- Experience with Oracle databases
- Knowledge of Java solution standards/best practices including SDLC, OOAD and design patterns
- Experience in the design, development and implementation of front or back end applications a plus
- Good understanding or working knowledge on Software Development methodologies(Waterfall, RUP, AGILE/SCRUM)
- Demonstrated analytical and Problem Solving skills
- Excellent communication abilities
- Focus on timely and quality delivery of solutions

- Entry level programming skills with JAVA, J2EE, Servlets, JSP/JSF, EJB 2.0 , JNDI, JDBC, JMS, JUnit, Maven, Jprobe, JMeter, ORM (JPA, Hibernate, iBatis), CVS.
