Developing secure products has never been more challenging or more important as it is today. Firmware engineers have an important role in multi-discipline teams that develop new products or solutions. You will be part of a team involved in the design, development and maintenance of UEFI firmware for commercial notebook, desktop and workstation products. In addition as a member of the HP intern community you will participate in activities with the opportunity to learn from and network with executives, managers, technical leaders and other interns.


Four-year university students who are working in a technical internship role at hp during their study or in summer breaks between university semesters.

Education and Experience Required:

High School Degree 3rd Year of University completed--typically a technical degree specialization.

Additional responsibilities:

* Work within a scrum team to define and implement complex features
* Develop firmware using C
* Troubleshoot issues and update existing firmware
* Apply software engineering and security principles to develop code and processes
* Develop tools using Python or C#
* Develop an independent intern project to present to the Houston HP community
