Hennepin Technical College seeks a Cabinetmaking Adjunct Instructor dedicated to excellence in career and technical education who desires to become part of an environment that values trust, integrity, pride, passion, respect, collaboration, innovation, continuous improvement, and diversity. CORE HOURS: Monday through Thursday 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM (Must be available to work evenings and weekends)

EXPECTED START DATE: January 14, 2018

NOTE: To be qualified for this position, you must meet all of the following Minimum Qualifications. Ensure that your cover letter and resume contain descriptions of your work experiences sufficient for comparison against the requirements stated below.

Examples of Duties:

* Primary teaching responsibilities, which include providing instruction for lecture and lab courses in the Woodworking program
* Continuous curriculum development, including the design, revisions, and implementation of instructional materials and assessment of learner outcomes
* Integration of assessment activities into teaching practices and participation in department and college-wide assessment of student learning
* Support of the success and development of students through the use of a variety of instructional methods, available office hours, and by providing additional resources
* Development and implementation of on-campus, online and hybrid courses
* Availability to teach at any of our locations during the daytime, evening or weekend in order to maximize enrollment and meet the needs of our diverse student population
* Contribution into department decisions on budget, scheduling, textbook selection etc
* Participation in discipline, team, campus, and college matters through service on committees; attendance at regular meetings; and continued professional development
* Support and advance the department and college mission through ideas and projects

Education Requirement

* Diploma in cabinetmaking

Occupational Experience Requirement

* Four full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in cabinetmaking.

Recency Requirement

* One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
