HCA Information Protection Department (IPD) is looking for a student intern. The intern will undergo supervised practical training to work and learn more about the field of Information Protection by working alongside IPD staff on key company initiatives. This internship would be for the Spring, Summer, and/or Fall semesters and will allow the intern to gain experience in a field in which they have interest.


* Participate in the coordination of security and privacy programs across the enterprise to gain efficiencies and improve effectiveness.
* Help develop and foster relationships with business owners, ITG leadership, and other stakeholders involved with Information Security and Privacy initiatives.
* Help establish and maintain an enterprise-wide view of security and privacy control gaps and improve risk response strategies.
* Help advise business and IT staff at all levels on Information Security and Privacy threats, risks, and activities.
* Help review and analyze the impact of Federal and State information protection and privacy regulations, company security and privacy policies, and other business obligations pertaining to the protection of sensitive information.
* Research and analyze healthcare security and privacy trends and recommend appropriate action plans.
* Collaborate with Information Security and Privacy colleagues on identifying and implementing consistent privacy and security safeguards and controls throughout the organization.

Less than one year of experience.

High School graduate required.

College graduate preferred.

Ideal candidate is a college student and interested in working 16-20 hour per week part time 2-3 days a week for an indefinite period of time.


Working experience with MS Office and Sharepoint

Normal work environment is an office with Windows PCs, various meetings, etc…

Position may require periodic after hours work and moderate travel at times with little notice.
