Job Description

Ocala Health encompasses Ocala Regional Medical Center, a 236-bed facility located in the heart of Ocala, and West Marion Community Hospital, a 174-bed hospital located in west Marion County, and Summerfield ER, a freestanding emergency department located in southern Marion County. Ocala Health has the only Commission on Cancer approved cancer center in Marion County. The hospitals offer a host of other quality and award winning services including bariatric surgery, orthopedic care and joint replacement, robotic surgery, cardiac and vascular services including open heart surgery and interventional procedures, emergency, neurological and rehabilitation services. Ocala Regional Medical Center is also a Level II Trauma Center. Ocala Health's outpatient facilities include Family Care Specialists, a primary care network of six locations throughout Marion County; Advanced Imaging Centers with two locations; a freestanding Wound and Hyperbaric Center; a Senior Wellness Community Center; and two surgical and physician specialty practices.

Nurse Manager Outpatient Services

Position Summary:

* The OPS RN Manager in collaboration with the Perioperative Director create a common vision to facilitate continuous quality improvement in the delivery of patient care in support of the organization's mission and vision.


* The OPS RN Manager in collaboration with the Perioperative Nursing Director assume the role of leader in planning, organizing, coaching and facilitating their intraoperative department functions and staff to assure quality service on a twenty-four (24) hour basis. The OPS RN Manager and the Perioperative Director are responsible for meeting JCAHO Standards, complying with the organization's policy and procedures, for managing supplies and equipment on their unit(s), for promoting teamwork with physicians and all health care providers, for promoting internal and external customer satisfaction, and for appropriate resource management.


* The OPS RN Manager has the direct-line responsibility for day to day operations and overall responsibility for the outpatient perioperative services department (including pre-admission testing areas) department, insuring that all staff has effective management, good communication and appropriate discipline. The OPS Nurse Manager is responsible for the implementation and evaluation of all nursing care and related activities. Job may include direct supervision of students at the discretion of the area supervisor. Employee must have the same licensure or have completed the same training to satisfy the requirements of the discipline of the student. Direct supervision means the primary caregiver is readily available to the student throughout the shift.



Education:

* 2 Year Associates Degree Required


* 4 Year Bachelor's Degree Preferred



License/Certification:

* FL RN Licensure required or obtained within 90 days of hire if licensed with applicable RN Compact Licensure.


* BLS


* ACLS & PALS (within 90 days of hire/transfer).



Experience:

* 1-3 years of nursing leadership experience required.


* 3 -5 years of nursing leadership experience preferred.
