Job Description

The Manager Clinical Documentation is responsible for the day-to-day management of the CDI function. The Manager plans, organizes, leads, and controls the CDIS team. The Manager conducts concurrent, comprehensive reviews of clinical documentation within the medical record to achieve accurate and detailed documentation. Appropriate provider documentation for clinically indicated conditions or procedures supports appropriate assignment of severity of illness, expected risk of mortality, intensity of service and resource consumption, which in turn accurately portrays the facility's quality outcomes ratings, reduces compliance risks, and captures appropriate reimbursement.

EXPERIENCE

* 5-7 years CDI of experience
* 2-5 years CDI experience in an acute care facility required.
* 1-3 years management experience preferred.

EDUCATION

* College Graduate Required Undergrad
* Degree in Health Information Management, Medicine, or Nursing required.
* BS preferred.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS

* Current RN license required with Critical Care, OR, ER experience preferred; or RHIA/RHIT/CCS certification required; or MBBS required
* CCDS, CDIP required
