Project Manager, Logistics

Purpose/functions of the role:

The Project manager is responsible for the planning, project management and executing the vendor/rework business timely and accurately. This person is the subject matter expert for the entire process from Vendor Quote to Delivery to the Customer. This includes: all rework/repack requests for product located in our warehouses and at vendors including all 3rd party vendor project business (TMO) as well as all zero-dollar display business from vendor (RMO). The Project manager also provides support to the US Operations Manager and Director of US Logistics. This includes: high level customer compliance analytics and ad-hoc reporting as well as training and support to the Logistics department and warehouses.

Primary Responsibilities/Duties:

Project Management

Review projects with Trade Marketing (TMO). Determine vendor location in coordination with TMO and Flow Planning. Provide on boarding training to new vendors as needed. Review materials, initiate Bills of Material and secure approvals for Purchase Requisitions. Review options and schedule transfer of materials and stock to the vendor locations according to the Available to Ship dates (ATS) utilizing Smartsheet. Review dates to ensure that the ATS supports customer requirements and normal transportation transit times. Meet with vendors, TMO and Account Support to insure schedules are aligned and identify timing issues or barriers. Proactively review plans on a rolling quarterly basis and review potential projects that my need to have schedule improvements due to sales goals. Communicate with transportation to ensure that equipment for moves to vendors and shipments to customers are forecasted.


Initiate Purchase requisitions and ensure proper approvals are obtained for PO creation. Manage the coordination with flow planning to ensure product availability. Review vendor schedules to ensure timely production and shipping of all projects. Identify any additional customer requirements/value add to ensure shipments meet compliance guidelines. Plan timelines for shipping outputs delivery to vendor as well as timelines from vendor completion to availability at the customer. Execute Retail Merchandise Organization (RMO) drop shipments to reps within the planning timeframe utilizing Smartsheet. Ensure dimensional and weight information is updated accurately.


For Logistics team, run high level analytics and research to identify trends, review carrier, customers and process issues. Identify reporting opportunities and root causes for Customer Accounts, along with solutions for improvements.


Identify, pursue and document cost saving for either individual projects (sourcing from the right, lowest cost locations. As well as continuous improvements for Vendor projects. Initiate info records with Finance team that include accurate vendor quotes and Bills of Material. Manage open purchase orders, including change orders. Resolve invoice issues weekly. Capture cost of any overtime or additional transportation cost due to scheduling issues and perform root cause analysis as these occur. Maintain accurate files.


Supervise employee. Coach for performance.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor Degree, preferably in Supply Chain, International Business, Business administration or Finance and 3-5 years' related experience.

Experience Required:

• Working knowledge of oracle and SAP systems

• Understanding of Transportation and Logistics Operations

• Customer Compliance

• Project and Process Management

Knowledge and skills required:

• Ability to assemble a project plan to execute successfully from project inception to final delivery to customers

• Attention to project details, along with higher understand of how those details impact schedules

• A highly motivated individual with strong interpersonal, leadership, organizational and project management skills and proven problem solving and decision-making capabilities

• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and demonstrated expertise in a direct and matrix environment

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively and efficiently in dynamic team environment with minimal supervision

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and understand communication cycle with stake holders

• Excellent analytical, written and oral communication and presentation skills and the ability to clearly convey relevant information to both internal and external customers

• Ability to identify issues, review potential solutions and ultimately understand the root cause

• Competency in Microsoft office
