Designer for Futuring: Games (Analogue and Digital)

The Global Design & Development Organization at Hasbro has formed an Innovation group. This small task force is designed to inspire future thinking and concept work throughout Hasbro. The team executes against this goal by identifying and acting on trends and insights, which inspire the Future of Global Play 2 plus years out.

Reporting to the Director of Imbedded Innovation, this Games Imbedded Innovator is responsible for inventing viable, strategic and game changing play concepts.

Success in this position requires partnership across the Hasbro's development teams and the ability to inspire teammates creating a climate for disruptive innovation.

This intrinsically motivated person will be responsible for working with the Director of Innovation and a band of other imbedded innovation designers to synthesize trends, technologies and societal insights which will inspire relevant concept generation for the games divisions both analogue and digital.

This individual must be undeterred by the blank page, relentlessly buoyant and willing to share ownership of a concept for the success of the team.

Skills:

Must have a deep progressive knowledge of and an intense curiosity regarding technology related to social game play and state of the art consumer electronics.

Must have a creative "makers" mindset and be proficient in manipulating both analogue and digital mediums to expertly convey concepts.

Must be able to connect value tech ready for the play industry to consumer insights and our brands in a relevant timely manner.

Must be able to think across platforms and a global landscape, whether analogue, digital or a combination of both.

• Must be intensely curious with a global futurist's mindset
• Must have a deep understanding of their assigned demographic/division.
• Must be able to craft creative compelling presentations, being proficient in Adobe Suite.
• Must be able to work alone or in a large group, collaborating with varied disciplines as well as there fellow imbedded innovators.
• Must be able to work with and direct multiple vendors to meet crash deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

Invent and manage the overall project & technical design development efforts on strategic global product lines and play experiences targeted for 2 plus years out.

• Partnering with fellow Imbedded Innovators, will be responsible for harvesting and synthesizing trends, technologies and social insights from consumer insight colleagues, which will also inspire progressive and relevant concept generation for your respective division.
• Direct internal and external design resources, research & technology groups, as well as internal Far East support teams.
• Participate in product review meetings. Develop and expertly create and present material including technology to all levels of management.
• Willingness to acquire the technical knowledge to become an industry expert in all aspects of the world of gaming, both high end and casual.

Education, knowledge and technical experience required:

• Bachelor's Degree in a technical creative field required.
• Demonstrates a global futurist's mindset.
• Excellent digital presentation skills required - proficiency in Adobe Suite a must, with a preferred expertise in 3d modeling, coding and app creation.
• Aptitude to continue technical education to be current in technological programs as needed.
• 1-3 years of product development experience in digital and or analogue
