In this role, you will partner with a cross-functional team of designers, marketers, engineers, and brand writers to bring new products to market.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities::

Under the general direction of the Global Development leadership and senior team, you will:

• Manage the overall project and technical design development efforts of multiple assigned brands/product lines.

• Collaborate daily with US based marketing, engineering, research, brand writing, and packaging teams to create and deliver robust, consumer-centric new games.

• Manage external design and development vendors as well as internal Hasbro Far East development support teams.

• Participate in and interpret field research from internal and external research partners including funlab play sessions, store checks, trend watching, in-home testing, etc. Work closely with marketing partners to define actionable insights based on research.

• Leverage knowledge of mechanical and electronic solutions and current technology landscape to deliver break-frame game experiences while maintaining profitability goals.

• Participate in product review meetings and present concepts to all levels of Hasbro management.

• Maintain currency in design methods and ideation techniques, and mentor others to develop their own skill base.

Required Qualifications

• 1-5 years of progressive experience in industrial design, consumer product design, or equivalent.

• Bachelor of Arts in Industrial Design or related field.

• Some knowledge of toy and game industry or toy invention industry a plus.

• Professional proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator required; Rhino/SolidWorks/After Effects experience a definite plus.

• Some manufacturing knowledge and a basic understanding of how things are made.

• Experience with molded plastics, mechanism development, or electronics development a plus.

• Great drawing and quick-sketching skills- ability to convey ideas and experiences visually through sketches and renderings.

• Competent mock-up/breadboard/model making skills- ability iteratively test ideas through building and playing.

• Excellent presentation skills- ability to communicate complex ideas efficiently and engagingly.

• Great ideation, both alone and in group settings.

• Ability to lead brainstorming sessions and drive progress turning key insights into wow product concepts.

• Creative problem solving and lateral thinking skills- bringing a fresh or unorthodox perspective in order to solve design problems and come up with break-frame games.

• Engaging personality, great sense of humor, willingness to have fun.

• Comfortable multitasking- able to juggle multiple projects at various stages of development and pick up/put down projects as necessary.
